These numbers from the CDC have not been updated in many years I saw a 2007 study indicating over 11 million people were struggling with fertility. My company works with OB/GYN's and supports women with FertileView a Biomedical Informatics program for fertility management. FertileView helps women understand the optimal times to achieve pregnancy.

I know for me, it’s because my cycle is so erratic. I’ve only been TTC for 6 months. I say only because I was on the pill for 10 yrs prior to TTC and got off the pill just 1 year ago, so I’m being realistic. I got on the pill to regulate my cycle, which it did, but now I’m all over the place. So again I’m being realistic. For the past 2 months, I’ve been using an ovulation predictor kit called Ovu-trac (www.ovu-trac.com), that helps me predict my fertility with my own saliva samples. This makes the kit individual to me, which is helpful. I’m keeping positive, hoping this will work.

It is interesting about who is counted in the infertility nos- it certainly inflates it a lot! I have experienced infertility and had over 25 IVF procedures to have a child. I agree not everyone feels right about going down the IVF path but having a baby became an obsession for me and I am so grateful I was one of the lucky ones. After all that I ended up conceiving naturally after taking advice on how to improve my fertiltiy from Maree at www.a-gender.com.au
The advice was free and she was so helpful- she has been through infertility herself.

It is such a difficult thing to go through and I wish all those who experience it the best of luck and I hope they end up holding a baby in their arms- whether it be by natural conception , adoption or whatever is right for them. It was defintiely worth all I went through...
