Monday 3/16/09 A Wrench in The Mix
Okay, I seemed to keep my ovulation at bay over the weekend, but as we know if you plan too much the least expected happens. I took the Day 3 ovulation test my doctor recommended this morning when I got to work and sure enough this time it came up positive. I was worried that this might hinder my transfer, so I called the Dr to see what I needed to do.
A few minutes later, the IVF nurse called me back requesting me to come in right away for a blood test to determine how high my FSH level was to see if we still had enough room to time the procedure for this month. I had to work that day, so needless to say I had to make an excuse to be able to leave right then. I just told my boss I needed an early and extended lunch break and I would be back as soon as I could. I was so nervous Monday waiting for those results.
After all, I am so close to goal and I was hoping that we would not have to push the transfer to next month. The thought of even more delay was like torture. However, my luck persevered when the nurse called with the results and told me the Dr. said if we kept a close eye on it we may have to push the procedure back to Monday instead of Friday but it was still doable for this month. O.M.G. what a relief!! I would still need to keep my follow up appt for the following day to draw more bloodwork to be extra sure, but it was still possible. Thank you God!!
I was planning on using tomorrow as my day off anyway because we have a follow up appt with Chris’s oncologist to see where we go from here with his treatment. Hopefully for once we might get some good news. We’ll see…
